Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026

Plain language summary: You pay us $200 a month. We generate and schedule a week of social posts for you, based on what you tell us. You approve each post before it goes live. You own everything we make for you. Either of us can cancel any time.

1. The agreement

These Terms govern your use of RootedPost, a product of Watchlight Interactive LLC (a Wisconsin limited liability company). By signing up, you agree to these Terms.

2. The service

RootedPost generates social media post drafts for your business using AI (OpenAI's GPT-4o), reviews them automatically against your brand profile, and — once you approve them — schedules them to your connected social accounts via Buffer or directly to platform APIs.

3. Your responsibilities

4. Pricing & billing

5. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time. Your service continues through the end of the billing period you paid for. We can also cancel your account if you violate these Terms, with reasonable notice unless the violation is severe.

6. Content ownership

You own all post copy, images, and content generated for your business. You grant us a limited license to display, edit, and transmit that content as needed to run the service (e.g., showing it in your approval dashboard, sending it to Buffer to schedule).

You retain ownership of all materials you provide (logos, photos, brand notes). You grant us a limited license to use those materials solely to operate the service for you.

7. AI-generated content

Posts are generated using OpenAI's models. We make no guarantee that any individual post is original, factually accurate, or appropriate for your business. That's why every post requires your approval before it goes live. If something is wrong, edit or reject it.

8. Third-party platforms

We post to social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and others) and rely on third-party services (OpenAI, Buffer, SendGrid, Google Cloud). We are not responsible for the availability, behavior, or policy changes of those platforms or services. If a platform removes your post, suspends your account, or changes its rules, we'll do our best to adapt but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.

9. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages, and other interruptions may occur. If the service is materially unavailable for an extended period, contact us and we'll work out a fair adjustment.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Watchlight Interactive LLC's total liability under these Terms is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If the changes are material, we'll email you at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts located in Dane County, Wisconsin.
